Projected Visuals

Project visuals are media formats in which pictures are enlarges and displayed on the screen which are suitable for all viewers. This devices are overhead projector, slide projector, opaque projector, LCD projector, plasma projector, document camera and LED TV.

Projected visuals have long been popular as a medium of entertainment and instruction. This device is commonly used for instructional material that we usually see in schools and offices. These devices benefits both the teachers and the students most so that lectures all grade levels will be easier, for instruction in all curriculum areas. Using Projected visuals allows instructor to maintain eye contact with the students or the viewers. Over time, this kind of technology changed to allow people to communicate efficiently. with the evolution of technology, PowerPoint slide shows and animated clips have become known.

Overhead Projector

It is a projection device tool used to display images onto screen or wall. The typical overhead projector is a simple device which basically consist of box with a aperture on the top surface. This device make use of an overlay of clear transparent sheet-like-film.

a. Reflective Projector

In reflective projectors, the light source is located in the head of the projector.
The light shines down onto the reflective stage and then reflects back into the head of the projector and onto the screen.

Transmissive projectors are the most widely used projector that can be found in many schools. It is bulky, largest and heaviest type of projector.

In transmissive overhead projectors, a text passes through sequence of lenses and mirrors that came from the bases of the machine which in turn displays the result on a screen or a wall.

Slide Projector

It is a projection devices designed to be used with slides. In Slides are small transparencies mounted in sturdy frames which are  ideally suited to magnification and projection. This device is slowly becoming obsolete in most schools because of the presentation software that are more easy to use and does not entail cost to prepare for slides.

Opaque Projector

Its the first projector used as a presentation device before the OHP. It is used to project non-transparent materials or printed materials without having to convert them to another medium. Only few schools are using this devices because it is bulky and material cannot be projected as clearly as the new projection devices.

Liquid Crystal Display (LCD) Projector

It is the modern equivalent of a slide projector and OHP. It is a type of video projector for displaying video, images or computer data on a screen or other flat surface. LCD projector is considered a transmissive projector because light passes through the LCD panels rather than bouncing it away. When a projector uses mirrors to direct the light in an image, then it is reflective projector, and that is the technology behind a Digital Light Processing (DLP) projector. The Light-Emitting Diode (LED) projector is named for its source.

Document cameras, also known as visual presenters, visualizers or docucams (short for document camera). are real-time image capturing device for displaying magnified actual image, three dimensional objects as well as transparencies. An extremely flexible teaching tool which allows teachers or students to display anything. (source: http://www.elmoglobal.com/en/html/what/01.aspx)

These projected device that can project objects that are readily available in the classroom. A real object can be easily projected to enlarge the visual so that everyone can see, that make make this device efficiently for teaching.

Interactive Projector

"Having never known a world without laptops and smartphones, today’s children are digital natives. By welcoming technology into the classroom, teachers can take advantage of this —benefiting from increased engagement and better learning retention as a result." - Hitachi Digital Media Group

Nowadays, technology has evolved drastically, from traditional blackboard to Interactive whiteboard that suits best for teaching students from  computer age so what we call Millennials. With this new technology, students are keep engaged in participation in a group activity. The result is that they stay engaged for longer in class discussion.

Interactive Projector provide more interactive activities for student specially the young ones. The younger the the child, the shorter their attention span typically is.  With this technology, children may enjoy listening to lessons with some game activities while staying focused on the discussion that making the classroom atmosphere  more lively.
